Mexican Gothic

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia is an adult gothic horror novel set in 1950s Mexico. The protagonist is Mexican but the haunted house, set high on a hill in a remote area of Mexico, and the evil antagonists are English. The story has the normal elements of a gothic story, but a little heavier on the gore. Here’s what Kirkus Reviews says:
