A Face in the Crowd by Stephen King and Stewart O’Nan and The Longest December by Richard Chizmar are a pair of Novellas published together by Cemetery Dance Publications. The King-O’Nan collaboration is a baseball story in which the protagonist watching a baseball game on TV sees his past flash before his life in characters sitting behind Homeplate. The Longest December is about a best friend next-door-neighbor who turns out to be a serial killer. Both stories are excellent, smooth reads. Here’s a summary from Goodreads:
