Dearly: New Poems

Dearly is Margaret Atwood’s first collection of poetry in over a decade. Some poems stand alone and some are in groups, such as the nine poems comprising the “Plasticene Suite,” a meditation on plastic and the environment. Some of the poems use nature and animals, either as the subject or as metaphors. Some poems are humorous. Many of the poems reflect on the passage of time and death. If there’s an overall theme or mood, it’s as The Guardian says, the wisdom of lifetime:
