Lucy by the Sea is another Lucy Barton novel by Elizabeth Strout set during COVID, and Lucy is quarantining with her ex-spouse. If you liked the other Lucy novels, you’ll enjoy this one as well. I can’t think of another author who accomplishes with a character what Strout does with Lucy. I’m a fan. Kirkus Reviews trashes it as “meandering,” but plot’s not the point – Lucy is. Anyway, here’s what The New York Times says:
