Pagan Virtues is the 19^th book by Pulitzer-Prize winner Stephen Dunn. The poems are reflective, intellectual, and sardonic. Often they describe truths and observations about one’s self that are learned only after a long life. The first half of the book consists of selected poems that previously appeared in publications such as The New Yorker and The Paris Review. The second half of the book, the “Mrs. Cavendish” poems, are from a previously-published chapbook. Here’s what Publishers Weekly says:
