One By One, by Ruth Ware, is all about the plot. We’re told at the beginning of the story that a ski chateau was isolated from contact by an avalanche and four deaths are being investigated as murders. The rest of the book is about who, how, by whom, and why. Technically, I didn’t read the book in a single sitting, but I expended the better part of a day chasing the author’s clues, mis-directions, and hints to find out how it ends. Kirkus Reviews says “the solution is maddeningly simple, but the construction, simply masterful.”  Ruth Ware is author of The Woman in Cabin 10 and other bestsellers, so if you like her prior books, you’ll like this one.
