The City of Mist: Stories (The Cemetery of Forgotten)

The City of Mist is a collection of short stories by internationally best-selling author Carlos Ruiz Zafon that share in common a connection to Barcelona. The stories read like fables, have gothic elements and magical realism. Some of the stories are interconnected. The author died from cancer in 2020 and prepared this collection to be published posthumously. The quality of the prose is incredible. Here are some reviews collected by Bookmarks:
