The Curious Thing is the latest collection of poetry by Sandra Lim. The poems reveal and seize command over a lot of emotional territory in successive phrases of words in handfuls that are epic in their penetration and command, just bam, bam, bam, but subtle and sensitive. Lim is really good. If you’re a poet, especially, you’ll want to read this volume. There’s a reason the book jacket has effusive blurbs from heavyweight writers Louise Gluck and Ocean Vuong.
