Resurrection Walk is when someone walks free from the prison because his or her wrongful conviction has been set aside. It’s also the title of Michael Connelly’s latest Lincoln Lawyer novel. Mickey Haller (the Lincoln Lawyer) and his half-brother and private investigator, Harry Bosch set their sights on freeing Lucinda Sanz, accused of killing her ex-husband, a Deputy Sheriff. Sanz has always maintained her innocence, but her wonderfully slimy attorney Frank Silver convinced her to plead no contest. Plus, law enforcement says gunshot residue was found on her hands. To overcome a no contest plea and the gun residue evidence, Haller and Bosch will have to prove who really killed the Deputy Sheriff and why. This is a fun read, good pacing, good investigation and courtroom scenes. If you enjoyed the Lincoln Lawyer characters from Connelly’s novels or the Netflix series, or if you’re unfamiliar with Lincoln Lawyer but like legal and detective novels, you’ll enjoy this one. Kirkus Reviews says “Connelly never lets you forget, from his title onward, the life or death issues behind every move in the game.”
